Andrew Kauffman is an Ohio native and has been at The Ohio State University Nuclear Reactor Laboratory since 1999, where he currently serves as the Senior Associate Director. In his role, Andrew serves as the primary liaison to regulatory agencies, and he played a primary role in the relicensing of The Ohio State University Research Reactor for a 20-year extension. In addition to holding a senior reactor operator license, Andrew directs facility upgrades, repairs, and licensing activities, and participates in the planning and implementation of these. Andrew attended The Ohio State University for both his undergraduate and graduate studies, and he has multiple publications and a wide range of research experience which he uses to help reactor users design effective experiments.
