Matthew Van Zile is a native of Ohio and began working with the Nuclear Reactor Lab in 2018 as a summer intern. He became a full-time staff member in 2020. Prior to coming to the Ohio State University, Matthew served in the United States Navy as a reactor electrical technician and training coordinator. In addition, Matthew earned his graduate degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Ohio State University. He has assisted in several research projects including high temperature irradiation testing. One of his major responsibilities involves upgrading the fast neutron beam-line facility and developing specialized instrumentation for reactor experiments.
